How to Enjoy Every Moment of Your Wedding Planning Journey

A Love Letter from Your Luxury Wedding Florist – Flowers by Anya

Organising the most important day of your lives can feel like climbing a never-ending mountain of decisions, to-do lists, and emotions. As someone who has had the honour of working with countless wonderful couples over the years, I understand how overwhelming it can get — but I also know how deeply beautiful and rewarding the journey becomes when you slow down, reconnect, and remember why you’re doing all this in the first place: your love story.

You deserve to enjoy your wedding planning from start to finish — not just the final result.

So here are my heartfelt top tips, inspired by both my experience and the many magical moments I’ve witnessed, to help you stay connected, confident, and calm as you plan your luxury wedding.

1. Don’t Let the Planning Overshadow the Romance

Take a step back to clear your heads… make time to be just yourselves together and create more memories…

Wedding planning can consume every dinner conversation, every weekend, every spare moment. But your relationship needs space to breathe outside of it. I encourage all my couples to take at least one or two days a week completely off from planning.

  • Go for a romantic meal
  • Book a weekend getaway
  • See your favourite artist or band live
  • Spend an evening cooking, laughing, dancing in your kitchen

Celebrate what connected you in the first place — with no distractions. Let your love be the constant that holds the plans together, not something squeezed between logistics and guest lists.

2. Anchor Yourselves in Meaning

Planning your wedding can be overwhelming… recollect your thoughts together and what your day is really about.

It’s so easy to get lost in details: napkin colours, table layouts, RSVP counts. All important, yes — but none as important as what your wedding represents.

Start each new phase of planning by revisiting your core values:

  • What kind of energy do you want to create on your wedding day?
  • What emotions do you want your guests to leave with?
  • What moments do you want to remember forever?

Let these answers guide every decision, big or small.

3. Your Wedding, Your Way

Yes, getting advice from friends and family is great… but ultimately the decision is yours.

Everyone will have opinions — and they often mean well. But you don’t have to please everyone.

This is your story, and your wedding should reflect the heart of who you two are. Want a small, intimate celebration in the countryside? Do it. Dreaming of a grand floral statement entrance? Let’s make it happen. Want to skip some traditions? That’s your call.

Your day should feel like coming home to one another.

4. Build a Trusted Team

As a luxury florist, I’ve seen the transformative difference that a professional, passionate team can make. Your suppliers/vendors should feel like creative collaborators — ones who take the stress away, not add to it.

Find suppliers/vendors who listen, who see you, who elevate your vision with their artistry and expertise. When you surround yourself with the right people, the unknown becomes exciting instead of anxiety-inducing.

5. It’s Okay to Feel Overwhelmed – But Don’t Stay There

Sometimes you make the right decision, sometimes you make the decision right.

There will be moments where you doubt yourself. Where you feel unsure. Where you might question, Are we doing this right?

Here’s the truth: there is no “perfect” way — only your way.

Every choice you make together, with love and intention, becomes the right one. Trust in your story. Trust in each other. The love you’re celebrating is far bigger than one day or three is some cases — but that one day or days will be unforgettable.

Final Thought: Take Care of Your Hearts

The planning journey is just as much a part of your love story as the proposal or the vows. So nurture it. Protect your connection. Laugh through the chaos. Cry when you need to. And always, always come back to one another.

Because love is what got you here. And love — with a little help from a florist like me — will carry you all the way through to the petals falling at your feet on your wedding day.

With love and floral beauty,
