How to Keep Your Wedding Flowers Looking Beautiful & Fresh All Day

Expert Tips from Flowers by Anya

At Flowers by Anya, we believe your wedding flowers should look as breathtaking at the end of your special day as they did when they first arrived. With years of experience as a luxury wedding florist, we know all the insider tricks to help your blooms stay radiant from “I do” to the final dance. Here are our top expert-approved tips to ensure your floral arrangements look flawless throughout your celebration:

1. Start With the Best Quality & Conditioning

Behind every gorgeous wedding bouquet is meticulous preparation. When your flowers arrive at our studio, they’re carefully conditioned—hydrated, trimmed, and monitored for freshness—ensuring they’re in peak condition for your big day. This foundation is key to keeping your blooms fresh and vibrant for hours.

2. Proper Care Upon Delivery

If your bouquets are delivered out of water, make sure to trim the stems before placing them in fresh water. However, at Flowers by Anya, we deliver all our wedding bouquets in elegant living vases—not only are they practical for hydration, they’re also stylish enough to repurpose as part of your top table decor.

Top Tip: Remove the bouquet from its vase at least 20 minutes before the ceremony and gently dry the stems with a towel to avoid water marks on your dress.

3. Pack a Floral First-Aid Kit

Every bride should have a bridal essentials kit or ask your planner to include one. A small spray bottle of still water is perfect for lightly misting your bouquet (especially if it’s in a floral foam holder), keeping it hydrated throughout the day. Share this kit with your planner, coordinator, or trusted bridesmaid so they can spritz and refresh arrangements when needed.

We have added our Flowers by Anya Bridal Flower Essentials Kit Checklist below.

4. Hydrate Venue Installations

From breathtaking arches and floral staircases to centrepieces and backdrops, your wedding floral installations also need hydration. Ask your wedding coordinator or venue team to regularly check water levels and mist designs using your water spritzer. A little attention goes a long way in maintaining their freshness and beauty all day long.

5. Repurpose and Reuse with Style

Ask your florist (like us!) if they offer vase rentals for pew ends, chair flowers, or ceremony blooms. These can be beautifully repurposed for your reception—think centrepieces, cake table accents, or window ledge décor—adding value and elegance throughout your venue.

Worried About the Weather?

Heat, wind, or unexpected showers—whatever the forecast, preparation is key. With the right care and a knowledgeable florist by your side, your flowers will stand up to the elements beautifully.

At Flowers by Anya, every petal matters. We don’t just create exquisite floral designs—we help you care for them too. Follow us for more expert tips and advice to help you get the most out of your wedding flowers.
